Three design rules that make any app look premium
Extreme size contrast, one signal colour and three layers of depth turn a default-looking app or website into one that looks designed. You can hand all three to your AI or developer.
What the reel showed
Three screens, before and after. A trainer profile where everything was medium-sized became one with a huge name and everything else small. A booking app where everything was blue got one orange button, the only thing to tap. A flat product page got three layers: big type behind, the product in the middle, the buttons on top.
What this means for your business
Your website and booking pages are judged in a second. A page that looks default reads as small and cheap, even when your service is excellent.
None of these rules needs a designer. They are instructions you can give to the AI that builds your site, or to your developer.
What I’d use
Apply one rule at a time and compare before and after screenshots. Start with the signal colour: it is the quickest win and it usually lifts clicks on your main button.
Try it yourself
Paste this into the AI or developer that builds your site or app, with a screenshot of the page.
Send this with a screenshot
Works in ChatGPT, Claude, Lovable, v0, Cursor or as a brief to your developer.
Redesign this screen with three rules: 1. Skip the middle sizes: make ONE thing huge (the name or the main image) and everything else small. Nothing in between. 2. One signal colour: pick one bright colour that is used ONLY for the main thing to tap. Everything else is black, white and greys. 3. Three layers: big type in the back, the product or photo in the middle overlapping it, the buttons and prices on top. Keep the content the same. Show me the result and explain each change in one line.
